Global/Local Engagement goals:

  • To put the liberal arts into action by fostering a sense of responsibility and agency beyond the boundaries of the Connecticut College community.
  • To integrate such activities as study away and internships more thoughtfully within the academic curriculum.
  • To help students consider the theme and animating questions of the Pathway or Center in a broader setting.
  • To allow students to apply the content and methodologies encountered in their coursework outside the confines of the classroom, laboratory, or studio.

Students develop their own plan in relation to their pathway or center, majors, minors, broad intellectual interests and language studies. Connections coursework will inform how the student develops a compelling plan for Global/Local Engagement. Global/Local experiences are proposed by the student, and approved by their Pathway or Center.
