NEW LONDON, Conn. - There´s a light over at the Frankenstein Place-aren´t you curious to see what´s in there? For audiences just dying to find out, the Connecticut College Theater Department presents "The Rocky Horror Show," March 4-7. With all the glam and drama of the original play, Connecticut College students perform the cult classic about the two young lovers who meet a bisexual mad scientist, Dr. Frank N. Furter, and become immersed in his world of gender-bending science fiction. "The student actors are committed to showing the reasons why Furter feels compelled to begin a gender and sexual revolution," director Peter C. Deffet, a theater teacher at the Metropolitan Regional School and the All Children´s Theater in Providence, R.I, said. "They also demonstrate how Furter inspires other characters to expand their own boundaries of gender and sexual expression." Audience members are encouraged to explore their own gender identity by dressing up in "Rocky Horror Show" costumes. Non-messy props are also welcome. Confetti and liquid props are not permitted. Performances are March 4, 5 and 6 at 8 p.m., and March 6 and 7 at 2 p.m. in the college´s Tansill Theater. Tickets are $12 for the general public and $8 for students.
